Sugar Blue Burlesque is proud to present a glamorous evening of retro style entertainment at the fabulous Deville's Pad!

The Martini Club is a bi- monthly show which will spotlight a feature act, such as a magicians, bands, circus performers, singers and other performing artistes and groups. The night will also be filled with fabulous performances by the Sugar Blue Burlesque artistes including Clara Cupcakes, Foxy La Femme, Johnny Domino & Cecile Mimeux!

The whole evening will be hosted by Lulu Peekaboo! She is an 'I Love Lucy' impersonator and will make your whole evening peachy and hillarious and may even get you up onto the stage for a game or two!

Sunday August 22nd will feature the dirty rockabilly blues band, The Rusty Pinto Combo! Rusty will make you swoon and their songs will make you dance!

Every guest at the Martini Club will also receive a complementary Blue Martini upon entry, made by the amazing cocktail artistes at Deville's Pad!

ON the back of a whirlwind tour of 15 WA wheatbelt towns and ViP spots at Queensland’s Wintersun Festival, Adam Hall and The Velvet Playboys (VPs) present Rhythm Spectacular at The Regal Theatre, Subiaco on Saturday 24 July @ 8pm.

The first sell-out show of Rhythm Spectacular in January raised the roof and sold out so do not miss out. Gather mates, family, social club friends and prepare to take a trip back in musical time as Hall and the VPs, take you from the roarin’ 20s to the rhythm and blues of the 60s with a whole gang of musicians and dancers on the journey.

WHAT’S ON

The show is set against a back drop of brilliant VJ Zoo images following the eras of music and dance. There will also be amazing stage shows with non-stop music from Hall on trumpet and vocals with the VPs. There will also be guest spots with singers, swing dancers, cabaret sets from Sugar Blue Burlesque and more.

DANCING - YOU and US!

If you just can’t sit in your seat coz your feet are a-tapping then limited seats near a dedicated dance stage are available.

The girls from Sugar Blue Burlesque will also entertain with dance routines and costumes including a synchronised swimming trio, a 20s Charleston, impossible hoola hoop routines, top hat, white tie and tails and girls in gold vintage styled showgirl costumes and big feather headdresses.

Swing dancers will also show off their Charleston, a popular dance craze from the 20s and
the show will feature Lindy Hop, the original swing dance born in black communities in Harlem, New York and spread throughout the world in the 30s.

BIG BRASS BAND

Lucky Oceans will take to the stage with the Charlie Brown Big Brass Band who will meander through the audience to warm you all up as the show kicks off.

MUSIC and SONG

When Hall gets that trumpet going against silhouetted images and backed by his awesome six-piece band, The VPs, he will rock your socks off. His depth of understanding of rhythm and blues and jazz history, tightness of performance and energy will wow the audience.

Miss Burlesque Australia is the first competition in Australia to combine all feature elements
of Burlesque performance and personality to compete for a major prize and international title.
The competition is open to Burlesque performers of any level, both brand new, emerging and
seasoned professional.

A national competition that will see performers from all States compete for a prize pool worth
over $10,000 AUD in money, prizes and sponsorship.

State heats will be held, with all finalists heading to Sydney or Melbourne for the Grand Finals,
where the winner will be crowned Miss Burlesque Australia.

Sugar Blue is flying in the Smokin' Hot Sydney Burlesque Performer, Tasia for the show "Peeping through the Waxworks Window" at the Fly by Night on the 10th July. While she is here, she is teaching a one off 1960's Gogo Dancing workshop!

About Tasia:

As well as enjoying much success as a solo performer, Tasia has also graced the stage as one third of Sydney's Burlesque sensation, Belladonnas de Lux. Performing regular sellout shows at 34b Burlesque in Sydney, starred in a multitude of Sugartime Reviews and at such events as Big Day Out and the Enmore Theatre. She has toured the East Coast with the Absinth Club and Good Drugs Bad Women, and performed at numerous high profile corporate events and spectacular private functions. Tasia also featured at the 2007 New York Burlesque Festival. More recently Tasia performed shows in Auckland New Zealand, Sydney and Brisbane with Miss Angie Pontani (2008 Miss Exotic World) and headlined the Tenderloins production ‘Hot Lunch’ for a three night run at Sydney’s ‘The Vanguard’.

2010, Tasia has exhibited her burlesque skills at the Miss Exotic World Competition in Las Vegas and also at this year's Australian Burlesque Festival.

Perth audiences are also being treated to the very sexy and talented Michelle Smith who has just arrived from Boston, US, with her Audioerotica. She is the world's first burlesque harpist!

If you have already taken one of our Burlesque Academy courses or have a dance background, this day of workshops is for you to take your burlesque skills to the next level! These Burlesque workshops are at an intermediate to advanced level, so some previous training (even if all you have done is the burlesque bump & grind casual classes) is recommended but not essential.
