Course Description
If you have already taken our “Introduction to Burlesque” course and become a bona fide burlesque addict (like us!) we’d love to give you the opportunity to pursue your newfound passion and take it to the next level! The Advanced Burlesque Course runs for six weeks, with longer class sessions than the Introductory course (one and a half hours each class) and covers more advanced elements of burlesque dance, prop-work, costuming, performance and stagecraft. Over the six weeks you'll try your hand at chair dancing, feather fan dancing, advanced striptease, audience interaction, duo/group performances, and costume making. You'll learn a group dance choreography with all the girls, plus there's even a class in pastie making and tassel twirling! The group size is limited to just 15 participants, for a supportive and personalised environment. You'll receive a burlesque showbag at the beginning of the course, with lesson materials, a burlesque music CD, all in a Sugar Blue Burlesque tote bag with other fun burlesque surprises. The course will also introduce you to the business of burlesque, what to expect and what it takes to perform in the real showbiz world! You will take the burlesque persona you created in the Introduction to Burlesque course, refine and polish that character, find your true specialities and develop your character into a unique, entertaining and marketable burlesque act! The culmination of this course will be performing at a Sugar Blue Burlesque show!
