Class Description

Looking to add some sensual hip movements and hot shimmies to your dance vocabulary?  Then you need to attend the freshly redesigned Beginners Bellydance for Burlesque course!  With the roots of burlesque pegged squarely in the Middle Eastern art of bellydance, no burlesquer should be without a basic background in this sensual and seductive dance. 

Trixi Tassels has been studying Middle Eastern dance for 10 years and will guide you through the basic movements & steps, veil handling and how to fuse these into your burlesque dancing.

We'll be working with a classic burlesque track, 'Real Gone' by Sam Taylor & His All Star Jazz, to show you just how bellydance can be worked into your choreographies.  You'll find the sensual movements lend themselves naturally to burlesque and their inclusion in your dancing will bump you up a notch on the vamp scales!

Apart from tapping into a little exotic sex appeal, this class is also a great way to exercise and meet new friends, plus it's fabulous for developing strength and control in your abdominals and core muscles. This course is guaranteed to get your hips rolling, your torso swaying and your belly undulating!

What to Wear & Bring

Wear comfortable clothing that you can move in, bare belly optional.  You may also wear burlesque attire and heels if you like.
Bring a bottle of water.

Restrictions

This class is for women only, all ages welcome, no experience needed.

$140 for the course (including GST)
