Course Description

Consisting of six 1-hour dance classes over six weeks, this course is an introduction to the most fabulous dances that influence and inspire burlesque dancing!

The course will introduce you to a variety of authentic vintage dances, that were seen on the Broadway, cabaret, vaudeville and burlesque stages of the 1920s, 30s and 40s. You'll learn to Charleston like a 1920s flapper, kick like a 1930s showgirl, cut a rug like a 1940s jitterbug, and of course bump and grind like the authentic burlesque starlets of the 1940s and 50s.

A fabulous way to add to your dance repertoire for your burlesque acts, to learn how to move to those swingin' jazz tunes you've always loved, to learn the roots of modern day jazz and hip hop dances, or just a fun way to get fit! No dance experience is needed to take this course.

What to Wear/Bring

Loose, cool, comfortable clothing and comfortable flat shoes you can dance in. Slippery soles are best. Bring along heels for the Burlesque and Showgirl classes. Bring both to first class.

Bring along a bottle of water and a towel.

Restrictions

This course is designed for women, but all ages are welcome.

No experience whatsoever is needed to take the course, and it's perfect for all ages and levels of fitness! All levels of skill can be catered to, whether you're an experienced dancer or have never taken a dance class in your life!

Price

$120 for the course.

As there are limited places available for each course, a $50 non-refundable deposit must be paid before the course commences. The remainder must be paid at the first class.

How to Pay:
We accept cash, money order, Paypal (including credit card payments) and direct deposit.
You can pay the full amount, or just a $50 deposit, before the workshop, by any of these methods. However, if you have paid a deposit only, then the balance will be required in full in cash on the day.
