Class Description

Latin dance styles are sexy, sassy and plenty of fun! Learn how to put a little Latino into your Burlesque- whether it's quirky or steamy, this unique style will have you calling for your Cabana boy and sipping Mojitos in no time!

In the 1940's, Latin dance styles took Hollywood by storm, and Burlesque dancers couldn't keep away from those sexy Latin movements and intoxicating rhythms! You won't be able to resist your hips swaying and your shimmy shaking, and before long you'll be ready to Merengue, Cha-Cha and Mambo your way to the dance floor - or the stage!

Whether you've danced before or are dance-floor-shy, Latin dancing is the perfect way to you moving, and of course working up a sweat!

Coco Poppin has had years of experience dancing, teaching and performing various Latin dance styles, and she just loves vintage Latin dance! Coco will guide you through basic steps and rhythms, styling and body movement, crazy steps for performances, sexy show stopper moves, the 'Latin look' and fashion tips, and of course, putting a little Latino into your burlesque! You'll venture into many styles including merengue, mambo, cha-cha, tango and flamenco!

You will learn a Latin-style burlesque routine over the 6 week course that you will have the opportunity to perform in a group at a Sugar Blue graduation show! So put on your dancing shoes and let your hips do the talking!

What to Wear & Bring

Wear comfortable clothing that you can move in, flat shoes or heels you can dance in. Bring a bottle of water.

Restrictions

This class is for women only, all ages welcome, no experience needed.

$140 for the course (including GST)
